RUcore has been developing web services that allow software applications to easily interact with our repository framework of services. These web services are REST based and typically respond to requests in XML or JSON.

• International Image Interoperability Framework(IIIF) Service - Provides scholars uniform and rich access to image-based resources in RUcore.
• Manage Service - This service provides methods to create resource in RUcore.
• Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting - Use the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting to access resources in RUcore.
• Persistent Uniform Resource Locator Service - This service provides methods to create, update, and manage PURLs.
• Relationship Service - This service provides methods for retrieving, creating, deleting, and describing relationship statements in RUcore.
• Search Service - This service provides methods for querying for resoruces in RUcore.

A listserv has been established that will be used to communicate service outages and RUcore web service related news. The listserv address is rucore_web_services[at]email.rutgers.edu. Visit this page to subscribe.

A Google Group has been created to provide a place for discussion about the web services RUcore provides.
