RUresearch is designed to:
Make research data broadly and permanently available to the scholarly community
Provide access to supplementary resources, including codebooks, lab notes and publications, to provide the entire research context behind the data
Meet or exceed all federal requirements for data sharing, such as the recent NSF data management plan requirement
Provide access customized to the needs of the data and the primary user audience
Evolve into a workspace where users can discover and reuse data, use and analyze their data, and share data openly with others when it is complete
RUcore offers a central portal of research data but also portals specific to your individual collection. Individual research portals include the Video Mosaic Collaborative, an NSF-funded collection of mathematics education videos and the Equine Science Center portal, featuring the Young Horse Teaching & Research Program video collection.
Full RecordA full-record search will find items in the bibliographic record.
Full TextA full-text search will find items in both the bibliographic record and the full text.
Category/GenreA Category/Genre search will find items that belong to the category you type in as your search. For instance, type in "book chapters" and select Category/Genre from the pulldown menu to find all the chapters in books or monographs within the collection.
Boolean searchA search for "dog" or "cat" will find items containing "dog", or documents containing "cat", whereas a search for "dog" and "cat" will find items containing both "dog" and "cat." Mixed Boolean searches such as "Jane and Doe or John" or "Jane or Doe and John" are not supported.
TruncationSupports right-truncated queries. The query term "car*" finds all documents containing the word "car", "cars", or "carpet", or any other word that starts with the prefix "car."
Phrase searchingFor phrase searching, use double quotes. For example, "with liberty and justice for all".
Date searchingEnter a four digit year. Supports wildcards e.g. 195* for the 1950s.
