Definition
Includes each part of the name and occurs as many times as needed. These parts could include a date associated with the name or the parts of a personal name (e.g., family and given name). Names are expected to be in a structured form (e.g. surname, forename). The "type" attribute determines what data will be included in this name part. The metadata for each type of name part is entered/displayed in separate fields in the Descriptive metadata form.

Usage Note
For Family Name, give the surname or family name.

For Given Name, give the first name (and middle initial).

For Title, give the honorific or a title that can be used to identify the person.

For Date(s), give the year of birth.

For Year of Death, give the year of death.

Other name information may be used to give a textual description for a name when necessary, for example, to distinguish from other names.

Usage Note
This type attribute is used for personal names. Types may be values such as date, family, given, terms of address. Terms of address are generally used only when necessary to distinguish between two persons with the same name.
