Abstract
Division of the property of Stephen Vreeland agreed to by his children and grandchildren. There are no fewer than eight different lots or houses described, as well as shares in two mortgages, stock and cash, all of which illustrate the considerable wealth of this fifth generation Dutch family. The property descriptions, including houses in what is now downtown Jersey City and cedar swamp and brush lots in other areas often described in relation to the railroad, give a sense of Jersey City on the verge of becoming an industrial city. Contemporary copy of original.
