DescriptionThis small house has been erroneously identified the residence of John Woolman. It is now accepted as only a John Woolman memorial, built for his daughter, Mrs. Comfort, who occupied it only for a short time. It was finished in 1771 and complete details have been kept of the plans. The date and initials and were placed by a subsequent owner (Jabez E. Woolston) who kept a store. The larger frame building in the rear contains some of the timbers of the Woolman home that was taken from another location. The original fireplace has been restored.
