Abstract
Curvature is fundamental to the study of differential geometry. It describes different geometrical and topological properties of a surface in R3. Two types of curvature are discussed in this paper: intrinsic and extrinsic. Numerous examples are given which motivate definitions, properties and theorems concerning curvature.
