Abstract
In this "I remember" memoir, Yoshiko Hasegawa recalls moving from the Gila River Relocation camps to Seabrook Farms in September of 1944. Her father was instrumental in partnering with Charles Seabrook to establish and promote work and living opportunities for relocated Japanese Americans. Yoshiko was involved with the nursery school at Seabrook Farms, as well as the Brownie Troop. She recalls living in a diverse area that included Estonians, Latvians, and Lithuanians. The Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center has been soliciting current and past residents of Seabrook Farms for an "I remember" project. Residents are asked to create narratives regarding their experiences at Seabrook Farms. These memories help preserve the history and multi-cultural heritage of Seabrook Farms.
