DescriptionTopanemus Lake is located in Monmouth County, and drains a relatively small watershed. The watershed consists of primarily residential and forested lands, with one side of the lake bordering a county park. The lake is relatively shallow, and has been used for fishing, boating, swimming and skating purposes in the past. However, these activities are presently limited by extensive aquatic vegetation growths. This study was conducted to further characterize the lake and the causes of its condition.
NoteThis study was funded by a grant from the USEPA Clean Lakes Program and also by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
