Abstract
During this clip, the students discuss a task that had been posed by Erik: If I call the blue rod one, what rod will I call one half? A lively discussion centering on the definition of one half ensued. David offered an argument to justify why no such rod could be found, which was countered by a suggestion from Erik, and Jessica, David, Andrew, and Alan provided counterarguments to Erik's suggestion. The researcher then asked Erik questions about his suggestion, and Kimberly offered another counterargument to Erik's claim. Finally, David offered another justification of his original solution.
