TY - JOUR TI - I remember bean-picking at Seabrook DO - https://doi.org/doi:10.7282/T3PK0DP3 AU - Noguchi, Paul H. AU - Asada, Iddy PY - 1963-08-25 AB - In this 'I remember" memoir, Paul Noguchi recalls his work experiences in the bean fields at Seabrook Farms. He worked alongside other Japanese Americans, Estonians, Germans, and Latvians, as well as migrant workers from Jamaica and Puerto Rico. He remembers that the migrant workers were very cheerful and always shared their extra beans with other workers who had fallen below the daily quota. Paul also remembers humorous occasions and the quirkiness of some of his co-workers. The Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center has been soliciting current and past residents of Seabrook Farms for an "I remember" project. Residents are asked to create narratives regarding their experiences at Seabrook Farms. These memories help preserve the history and multi-cultural heritage of Seabrook Farms.
