Abstract
The New Jersey State Water Quality Inventory Report is prepared every two years, pursuant to Section 305(b) of the federal Clean Water Act (P.L. 95-217). This 1996 edition focuses upon water quality assessments of the principal waters of the state using chemical/physical data collected between 1991 through 1995 inclusive. In addition to chemical assessments, biological assessments employing macroinvertebrate communities are now reported for the entire state for the first time. This current Report covers issues and programs up to the end of 1996.
