NoteJune 25, 1953. 127 proud newly naturalized citizens took their oath as new citizens of the USA at the auditorium of the Seabrook Community House because the county court house was not large enough. The oath was administered by Judge David Horuvitz. This event took place because of the Walter McCarren Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952. Sponsors of this bill were Congressman Francis E. Walter of Pennsylvania and Senator Pat McCarren of Nevada. This group was instructed by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Brauer of Shoemaker Post #95 of Bridgeton, N.J.
