Abstract
This report from the State of New Jersey Emergency Relief Administration focuses on African American transients within the New Jersey Transient Bureaus in the early 1930s. This report presents answers to a series of questions about the African American transients and their population numbers, where they migrated from, their ages, when and why they left school, the types of jobs they were able to occupy, the government and social services that have been made available to them, and other aspects of the lives and backgrounds of individual African American transients.
