TY - JOUR TI - The memory ceiling DO - https://doi.org/doi:10.7282/T3PK0DTW PY - 2013 AB - The Memory Ceiling is a collection of creative nonfiction essays which explore a series of my personal experiences through the framework of memory. Each essay in the manuscript is introduced by a poem of a similar topic. Thus, the form of the manuscript mirrors the project of exploring the compression and expansion of memories. Memory is a complicated, unpredictable, and sometimes debilitating system, which impacts the decisions we make, the way we view the world, and who we are. From suppressed memories, to skewed memories, to the unpredictability of what will be remembered and what will be forgotten, this manuscript strives to explore the mystery of memory through personal experience. Ultimately, the collection ruminates on what to make of memory and what it makes of us. KW - Creative Writing KW - Autobiographical fiction, American KW - Memory in literature LA - eng ER -
