DescriptionThis case study demonstrates how using the model of Multi-‐dimensional Relational Family Therapy with an adolescent and her adoptive family to secure her attachment to them, she moved from a potentially destructive state to a more affirmed sense of herself. A significant part of the efficacy of this model is the attention to the subtle detail of the non-‐verbal interaction and observations of movement phrases within the family. The piece supports the power of therapeutic intervention as a form of prevention in treating adolescents and their families in a non-‐ pathological way. The model is applicable to both biological and adoptive families.
