In the midst of his coffee shop’s viral fame, Frank jumps off of the Golden Gate Bridge, leaving Mina, his newly arrived niece, and Manny, his longtime business partner, in charge. As Manny and Mina get to know each other, Mina’s pursuit of direction in life forces elements of Manny’s tragic past to resurface, and he is faced with a life changing decision. This text uses modern San Francisco as a backdrop for an exploration of the roles of nostalgia, loss, and friendship in a newly tech-saturated society.
