AbstractThe Guide to Digitized Sal Mosca Audiovisual Recordings details recordings in subseries 3.5 of the Sal Mosca business records, audiovisual recordings, and realia, housed at the Institute of Jazz Studies at Rutgers University—Newark. The guide compiles six separate inventories created by Don Messina, who digitized the recordings detailed in the guide. It includes a unique identifier for each recording, date, personnel, instrumentation, recording location, information about the original media carrier, song titles, related commercial releases, and commentary by Messina. Messina, a jazz bassist, performed with Mosca and worked closely with his associates and descendants to gather and research the recordings and create the guide.
