This quilt was created by my Aunt Vi for me. It was supposed to be a wedding gift, but at the time they thought I would never wed. Fabric from my old clothes was used.

Common Heritage: Uncommon Quilts exhibition and preservation event
The Montclair Historical Society and the Nubian Heritage Quilters Guild were jointly awarded a Common Heritage grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for a quilt exhibition and preservation project on June 11 and 12, 2016. The exhibit will ran through the end of July at the Montclair Historical Society’s Crane House and Historic YWCA, Montclair, NJ. The preservation component of this event allowed visitors to bring quilts form their own homes and get photographs taken of their work by a professional photographer.
