According to Crawford, the moneyer is perhaps descended from Marcus Aburius, praetor of 176 (Crawford, pg. 280) Sydenham notes a date of 120 B.C.E. (page 58) that is later than the date of 132 B.C.E. that Crawford identifies. Badian identifies obverse portrait as 'Roma' (in quotes)
