DescriptionEfficient pincer-ligated-iridium catalysts are reported for the dehydrogenation of amines to give enamines and for the dehydrogenation of 1,2-difunctionalized C-C linkages to give the corresponding 1,2-difunctionalized olefins. Isotope effect studies indicate that the rate-determining step is β-C-H bond cleavage following a pre-equilibrium cleavage of the α-C-H bond.
