DescriptionThis collection of poetry, Small Magics, is divided into three parts: Myth, Work, and Love. I explore how these three topics are intertwined in autobiographical poetry as well as created mythologies around stories I've heard from my family. I am interested in how capitalism informs domestic life and the self. My speaker considers the real and the imaginary and how the two realms are blurred. Asian Americanism is the background to each of these poems. Although not explicitly stated, tradition and culture are directly tied to the experiences of the speaker.
