DescriptionDNA nanotechnology has been a growing field of research for the last four decades. There have been extensive efforts to design and construct nanostructures such as one-dimensional arrays, two-dimensional lattices, three-dimensional polyhedra, nanowires, molecular computers, and nanoswitches. The aim of this thesis is to design and characterize self-assembled single-stranded DNA(ssDNA) layered-crossover tiles that consist of two or three pairs of kissing loops. Two tiles have been designed to have 90-degree and 180-degree kissing loop interactions. Denature PAGE, Native PAGE, Agarose Gel, Thermocycler, and AFM methods have been used to analyze the characteristics of each tile Design.
