DescriptionDischarges into Public Sanitary Sewers are regulated by the Bureau of Pretreatment and Residuals. Existing dental facilities subject to this regulation (some specialties are exempt) are required to implement Best Management Practices, or BMPs, by October 1, 2008, and must install an amalgam separator by October 1, 2009. This document provides a list of "dos" and "don'ts" for dental facilities that are following the New Jersey Department of Envrionmental Protection's Best Management Practices.
