DescriptionThis report updates New Jersey's performance in meeting the eleven Sustainability Goals originally established through a public process by New Jersey Future and accepted by former Governor Christine Whitman in April 1999. This report also includes a general summary of a number of key state agency strategies being used to advance sustainability in New Jersey and strengthens the forty-one indicators used to measure progress. The eleven sustainability goals are as follows: economic vitality, equity, strong community, culture and recreation, quality education, good government, decent housing, healthy people, efficient transportation and land use, natural and ecological integrity, protected natural resources, and minimal pollution and waste.
NotePurpose: To update New Jersey's performance in meeting the eleven originally established sustainability goals outlined in the 1999 report "Living with the Future in Mind."
