DescriptionThis study investigated the dynamics and transport of pollutants in three tidal tributaries of the Hackensack Estuary: Sawmill Creek, Mill Creek, and Berry's Creek. The study also investigated microscale transport dynamics at a marsh impoundment site and a mudflat impoundment site in the Sawmill Creek sub-basin. Tidal elevation, flow and water quality data were collected at these sites. The study revealed that nutrient loads for the wetlands assumed in most previous studies of the lower Hackensack River were not appropriate.
