DescriptionThis study was a two-year program initiated by a working committee comprised of invited scientists, staff memebrs of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Coastal Engineering Research Center (CERC), and representatives of the Smithsonian Institution. The committee met to delineate the problem areas and to design studies which might provide results of value in determing the effects of current waste disposal practices in the New York Bight. This volume is Section 1: Introduction, which covers the intoduction of this study, and includes the proposal reports which led to this study being conducted. In Apendices: Section 2 proposals are incuded.
