This project is a part of a larger study documenting the human modification of the shore of New York Harbor and identifying the technologic, economic, social and political factors driving those modifications. In addition to several articles in proceedings and journals, a book is planned which has been tent-atively titled "The Shaping of the Harbor: Human alteration of New York Harbor 1609-1989."
