DescriptionAs part of its Climate Change Initiatives program area, the Delaware Valley RegionalPlanning Commission (DVRPC) undertook an inventory of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the region. This report is the 2010 revision to the inventory released in March 2009. Greenhouse gas emissions, measured in metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO2E), are calculated for energy used in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, as well as in the transportation sector. Non-energy-related emissions are also included. The base year for this analysis is 2005. Within the DVRPC region, these sectors resulted in emissions of 87.5 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MMTCO2E) in 2005. DVRPC has also created detailed estimates for each municipality's GHG emissions and energy use, to serve as a starting point for local action and analysis.
NoteOriginal report released March 2009. Revised December 2010.
