DescriptionThe major purpose of this work is to compare the costs and desirability of various alternative arrangements of water, sewerage, and refuse utility systems by both individual and groups of municipalities, and to select a preferred arrangement and program of implementation.
The second purpose is to coordinate the preferred water, sewerage, and refuse plans with other elements of the long-range, comprehensive county plan.
A further purpose is to fulfill certain requirements of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965. Section 702(a) of the Act authorizes the Housing and Home Finance Administrator to make grants to local public bodies and agencies to finance specific projects for basic public water and sewer facilities.
