DescriptionThe purpose of this report, the Performance Review of Electric Distribution Companies (EDCs) in 2011 Major Storms, is to provide The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) and all other interested parties with facts, findings, data and recommendations in the areas as warranted in the preliminary report about storm event planning and emergency response and outlined in the resulting Request for Qualifications. This report provides observations regarding the actual effectiveness of New Jersey’s four (4) EDC’s preparation, response and restoration to Hurricane Irene and the October 29th snow storm, and Emergency Preparedness Partnerships' (EPPs) recommendations to improve the identified areas of weakness of each EDC’s existing inclement weather preparedness, delivery system resiliency and post-storm response policies and practices.
