DescriptionThe objective of this report was to determine the nature and level of threats to piping plover populations and reproductive success and to reduce threats through management. Recovery of piping plovers in New Jersey will depend on the ability to develop and implement new approaches to reducing losses of both nests and chicks. This will require aggressive management of predation and human disturbance and creative habitat enhancement projects that improve foraging habitat. This document includes piping plover nesting site narratives.
