DescriptionThis volume is appendix B, energy facility description, of the above titled report. This report addresses the impacts of developing energy facilities in coastal areas, dependent upon the characteristics of the energy facility. A comprehensive policy planning tool such as the Coastal Tourism Model depends on an understanding and a specification of the functions, purposes, inputs and impacts of each of the 15 energy facilities. The 15 energy facilities are presented: support base, oil and naturural gas pipelines, oil pumping and gas compressor station, gas separation and dehydration plant, gas treatment plant, natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation plant, peak shaving facility, tank farm, nuclear power plant, coal-fired power plant, cogeneration facility, resource and energy recovery facility, electric transmission line, coal-handling terminal, and offshore oil port.
