DescriptionIn 1974, the Legislature recognized the potential as a resource of the Delaware and Raritan Canal and established the canal as a State Park. To 1985, the date of the report, however, there was no single State-funded development project of any significance within the Canal Park. The Delaware and Raritan Canal Commission prepared this document to propose a development program that would allow the Canal Park to reach its potential. It proposed $12,817,600 over a ten year period for development purposes and a consequent increase in the maintenance and administration budgets.
