DescriptionThis report describes the status of disposal options for Low-Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW) generated in New Jersey and outlines the potential for continued or future access to these and other possible opportunities for out-of-region LLRW disposal. In June 1998 the Governor requested the Board to "prepare a comprehensive plan and explore all options for the short and long term needs for the funds (Dedicated Radioactive Waste Fund) with sufficient input from affected parties." In response to that request, a workgroup was formed of members of the Siting Board, Northeast Compact Commission and NJDEP staff to prepare this plan.
