DescriptionThis pamphlet aims to help residents become better stewards of their streams through understanding how they work and the benefits they bring. A discussion of the value of streams, the anatomy of streams, including water cycle, watersheds, upland areas, channels, and corridors is presented. The pamphlet further explains the effects of development on streams and how to minimize these effects through changes in lawn care practices, careful disposal of household chemicals, and stream corridor protection. This pamphlet was adapted from The Brooks of Harding, published in 1992 by the Harding Township Environmental Commission.
