DescriptionThe goal of the redevelopment plan is to allow development of the upland portion of the subject properties with minimal to no impact to the existing wetlands. Given the sensitivity of the environment, a less intensive development that addresses wetland conditions of these properties would be more appropriate for the redevelopment area. The Commission's objective for this redevelopment area is to encourage positive development of the area that will contribute to the economy and the environment. The plan permits retention of numerous land uses found in the BCC Zone at a realistic scale in combination with residential development. Consideration of incorporating smart growth principles in the design of such a development may provide a type of mixed-use development, which did not exist in the Meadowlands at the time of this report.
NotePurpose: To make recommendations for the redevelopment of the Route 3 East Redevelopment Area
