DescriptionThis is a Lake Restoration Feasibility study for Hammonton Lake submitted by Remington & Vernick Engineers. It is one of three initatives funded through an NJDEP Lake Restoration Fund applied for and approved in 1998. Currently, Hammonton Lake is used for boating, fishing, aesthetics/active recreation, and swimming. This report lists its limitations as including coliform and bacterial counts, aquatic weeds, and sediment growth within the lake bottom. All these limitations affect the current uses of the lake. Future lake restoration activities are aimed towards the removal/reduction of sediment material and initiatives to reduce coliform counts.
