DescriptionAs part of the U.S. Geological Survey?s National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) program, concentration data for 18 hydrophobic chlorinated organic compounds in streambed sediments collected from 100 sites across New Jersey from the late 1970?s to 1993 were examined to determine (1) which compounds were detected most frequently, (2) whether detection frequencies differed among selected drainage basins, and (3) whether concentrations differed significantly among selected drainage basins.
NotePurpose: This fact sheet shows overall water-quality conditions by evaluating the presence and distribution of hydrophobic chlorinated organic compounds of a wide geographical area.
