Abstract
Riverbank Park is the smallest park in the Essex County system, yet one of the most heavily used. The park was created amid controversy in 1907, but was an immediate success with residents. The ballpark rests on the former site of the Balbach and Sons Refining and Smelting Company, once the second largest metal processing enterprise in the United States.
