Abstract
Drawing of the building that served as Town Hall, School, and Jail for the City of Jersey City, built in 1838 during the term of its first Mayor, Dudley S. Gregory. The city was at that time consisted only of the small area known as Paulus Hook, and was still quite sparsely populated.

During October, 1910 Jersey City celebrated the 250th Anniversary of its founding as the town of Bergen by the Dutch in 1660. This is one of a series of commemorative postcards, many attributed to "Bergen Camera Exchange," depicting historic scenes and places.
