Abstract
This is the plaque on the base of a statue of Christopher Columbus. The statue was erected in 1950 and rededicated on October 12, 1992 in memory of Edward F. Zampella, the "Voice of the Columbus Day Parade."

Zampella, June 3, 1915, March 11, 1992, "Voice of the Columbus Day Parade", A native son of Jersey City in the county of Hudson to whom this plaque is dedicated in honor of his many contributions to Jersey City's annual Columbus Day parade which he founded in 1950 and remained devoted to henceforth.
