Abstract
This report includes a compilation of data collected by various Federal, State and local agencies and represents the best assessment to date of existing water quality in New Jersey. Graphically presented data indicates water quality improvement and degradation which occurred during the past five years. Anticipated changes resulting from Departmental programs and activities are also identified in the report. Attainability of the 1983 fishable and swimable goals of the Act is assessed and resources for achieving these goals are also considered.
