Cecil, the Zimbabwean black mane lion was barbarically killed in the summer of 2015! NJ Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker introduced the CECIL Act. Jimmy Kimmel passionately denounced the killing on his show. Aaron Blaise, the Lion King animator, created art dedicated to Cecil. Major US airlines voluntarily banned the transport of hunted animal heads. JUST STOP is my voice as a quilter to stop trophy hunting of animals approaching endangerment, endangered species, and barbaric hunting practices. Lion head attribution: www.vectorportal.com

Common Heritage: Uncommon Quilts exhibition and preservation event
The Montclair Historical Society and the Nubian Heritage Quilters Guild were jointly awarded a Common Heritage grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for a quilt exhibition and preservation project on June 11 and 12, 2016. The exhibit will ran through the end of July at the Montclair Historical Society’s Crane House and Historic YWCA, Montclair, NJ. The preservation component of this event allowed visitors to bring quilts form their own homes and get photographs taken of their work by a professional photographer.
