Abstract (type = abstract)
In our universe almost everything is out of equilibrium. With the improvement of experimental techniques we are now able to probe more and more truly nonequilibrium phenomena. One cannot explain the outcomes of these experiments by doing perturbation over equilibrium states. Thus, it has become increasingly important to develop unconventional theoretical framework to study such processes. In this thesis we examine two very different problems in nonequilibrium physics -- (1) Multistate Landau-Zener Problem that involves explicitly time-dependent Hamiltonian, and (2) Two Atomic Clocks Coupled to a Bad Cavity, where we have to contend with dissipation and external forcing.
